Because You Deserve The Best You
Functional medicine is a new model that looks at the whole patient to find the best path to optimal health. Based on the latest research, it allows patients to assume a greater role in collaboration with their doctor. When we look at symptoms as interrelated, not just isolated events, we’re able to gain a better understanding of their causes.
A New Approach To Life & Wellness
Achieve Optimal Health
Functional medicine is a new model that looks at the whole patient to find the best path to optimal health. Based on the latest research, it allows patients to assume a greater role in collaboration with their doctor. When we look at symptoms as interrelated, not just isolated events, we’re able to gain a better understanding of their causes. This approach is a more personal way to provide individual medical care and a more effective way to improve your overall health.
A Better Way
I believe there is a better approach. Current standard practice does not do enough to find solutions to long-term or chronic conditions that prevent people from enjoying good health. The practice of medicine should be more than just identifying disease and treating symptoms with heavily marketed pharmaceuticals targeted for a generic human being. People are not generic. That’s why I strive to honor the individuality of my patients and the uniqueness of their conditions. You are not going to find the answer to years of health problems in a five-minute doctor appointment, yet insurance reimbursement limits the amount of time many doctors can afford to spend with a patient. The easy answer is to throw a prescription at every symptom and side effect you develop, but it is not going to get you on the path to health and wellness. The functional medicine model allows for longer appointments, more comprehensive testing and most importantly, a doctor willing to put the pieces of the puzzle together to get to the bottom of the real cause of your symptoms.
A New Perspective
As your physician, I seek to provide a more personal, comprehensive approach to your medical care. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported while addressing your health concerns and helping you experience a better quality of life. My greatest desire is to give you the ability to make decisions about health and life with more options than pharmaceuticals. You know better than anyone when something is not right with your body or health, yet many patients feel unheard or dismissed when their doctors do not see a straightforward cause to their symptoms. Together as practitioner and patient, we can become a therapeutic team and create a partnership where you have a voice and actively participate in your own recovery.
Finding the underlying cause of your health problems is not always a quick process. I will spend time with you to identify and address the underlying causes of your condition—not just the symptoms. On occasion, a mainstream approach to therapy may be appropriate as a temporary crutch to help while you start on your healing path, but it should not be the endpoint.
